Smaugby ~zuvelioke

Scraps©2012-2013 ~zuvelioke
Smaug the Magnifiecient also known as Smaug the Golden.

After seeing Hobbit trailer I was challenged to draw this :D

Definitely not perfect, but I might make a few minor changes later. Walkthrough ->[link]

Graphite pencils, permanent markers, Photoshop and lots of time.

The character belongs to J. R. R. Tolkien.

I did not read it in the original language, but in translation it was indicated that Smaug was gold color :)

That's funny Tolkien described him as being red. I didn't know that he was described as golden in a different language.

It is indeed, that's why I prefer reading original when possible. Pity I have never had an opportunity and time to read Hobbit in English.

Wonderful! I like how you've made the dragon gold. The scales are really amazing. It reminded me of a great "The Hobbit" graphic novel I've once read.

I know! I can't wait to see it! I hope it wouldn't be in 3D since i can't see such movies.

Me too :D The trailer only made the waiting more unbearable. I can't watch 3D movies either, but, at least here, there are always both 3D and 2D versions.

Have you read any other books by Tolkien ?

Almost everythink and in different translations. My first book by Tolkien was The Lord of The Rings which I've read in primary school. It was pretty obscure then, but one librarian lady recommended it to me :)
